It must have something to do with the time of the year – as summer beckons so do higher fuel prices. In the past month gas prices have gone up an average of 25 cents per gallon. The national average price is $2.50 per gallon, according to the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report. It really bums me out to see the prices going up just so oil companies take advantage of the season. I have been watching those prices go up these last few weeks and knowing that the price of crude has not gone up just could not have a rational explanation other than well — the weather.
As a fleet owner this turns into thousands and thousands of (extra) dollars for you. Wouldn’t it be great if we could brew our own fuel and get away from the tentacles of big oil? Imagine thousands and thousands of micro-refineries springing up all over the country. Now that would be free enterprise for sure. Perhaps the biofuel movement will contribute to this entrepreneurship.
Wouldn’t it be great if there was a way to not only monitor fuel consumption but also optimize it? You guessed it, there is – GPS Fleet Tracking comes to the rescue.
